Our Story

Spanish-immigrant, Joseph Covis founded American Marble & Granite in 1894. Shortly after, Joseph sent a letter back to his family in Spain requesting for help with his new business. His nephew, Saturnino Vega, heeded his uncle’s request and arrived at Ellis Island, New York in 1912. Since day one, American Marble & Granite has been a family-owned and managed business.

In 1894, American Marble & Granite Corporation was founded in Los Angeles, California by Joseph Covis. Since then, AM&G continues to be family-owned and managed by the Vega family for the last 5 generations.
